The Jaypee Institute of Information Technology University at Noida in Uttar Pradesh is a Deemed University vide notification no. F-9-27/2000 – U.3 dated 1st November 2004 of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The JIIT is fully backed and supported by the Jaypee Group of Companies through its not for profit trust – Jaiprakash Sewa Sansthan (JSS).

Location and Infrastructure

JIIT is situated near the Electronic City at Noida and is at a distance of 3 kms from New Delhi – UP border. The state-of-the-art campus at a total project cost of Rs 6800 lakhs, with a total built up area of over 6,50,000 sq.ft comprising smart buildings with Internet connectivity (environmentally conditioned Academic Block, Faculty Residences, Student Hostels and Annapoorna), well-equipped modern laboratories and library provides a pleasant and intellectually stimulating ambience for students in an eco-friendly environment. M/s Arcop Associates Pvt. Ltd. an eminent Canada based architect firm has done the architectural design of the campus with the construction being undertaken by the Group itself.

Life at JIIT

At JIIT special emphasis has been placed on developing an environment highly conducive to building of a solid foundation of knowledge, personality development, confidence building, pursuit of excellence and self-discipline and enhancement of creativity through motivation and drive, which helps to produce professionals well trained for the rigors of professional and social life. All students are encouraged to make life outside the classroom vibrant and enjoyable by engaging themselves in multiple extracurricular areas. Fun, creativity, competition, distinction, establishing relationships with fellow students and others in the community, and ultimately enhancing the value of their educational experience, is at the heart of all extracurricular activities.

Network Connectivity

The JIIT campus has been networked for total connectivity. Its server room has Nine servers Compaq Alpha ES450, Compaq Proliant dual XEON Processors Servers ML370 and Compaq Proliant single Pentium Server ML330, ML350). Switching has been implemented through the latest layer 2/3 CISCO switches and Cisco 2620 Series Router. It has four Computer laboratories with more than 400 computers operating on Windows and Linux, and are equipped with software such as Oracle 8i, Rational Rose, MatLab, Visual Studio 6.0, Microsoft .NET, Visual Prolog 5.2, Model Sim, Animo 4.1, Soft Image, 3D Max 6, Photo Shop CS, Illustrator CS, Flash 5, Director 8.5, Office 2000, and MS Project.
